Contest rules
Last updated 18 October 2026
Draft pending lawyer review. This working draft was prepared for PetPool Technologies and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It explains how PetPool intends to operate and may change.
Baseline rules
These rules apply to contests run on PetPool, whether PetPool Technologies hosts them or a provider, business, or owner hosts them. If a specific contest publishes extra rules, those extra rules apply together with these. If they conflict on a point of law, the law wins.
Each contest states the details
Before anyone can enter, the contest listing should state:
- Who is hosting it.
- How to enter, and the start and end time.
- Who is eligible, including any age or location limit.
- The prize, its approximate value in USD if it has one, and how the winner is chosen.
- Whether a Green Tick or a purchase is required. A purchase must not be required where the law forbids that.
No purchase necessary where the law says so
Where a promotional contest must allow entry without a purchase, the host has to offer that path. Green Tick is not required to enter a PetPool contest unless a specific contest’s own rules say otherwise and the law allows it.
Skill, chance, and the law
Some contests are judged. Some are random draws. The host is responsible for following the law that applies to promotional contests in Canada and anywhere else the contest is opened, including disclosure, fairness, and any registration rule. PetPool may refuse or remove a contest that appears unlawful.
Void where prohibited.
Winners and conduct
The host picks the winner by the method in the contest listing and contacts them through PetPool. Cheating, fake engagement, or harassment can disqualify an entry.
A prize is the host’s responsibility to deliver, unless the listing says PetPool Technologies is supplying it.
